AAA unites MU students of all backgrounds to bring campus awareness and understanding of Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) culture, history, and current issues to Mizzou. We are the voice of the Asian American students at MU.

FAQ
Do I have to be Asian/Asian-American to join AAA? Do I have to be Asian/Asian-American to be an executive officer or board member?
No, our organization is open to everyone of any race/background/identity! As long as you care about and want to enrich the APIDA community, you are welcome!
Can I still join AAA if I'm an international student?
Of course! Our organization is open to everyone of any race/background/identity!
Can graduate students be involved?
Yes, but they are excluded from voting and running for an executive board position.
Is there a cost to join AAA?
Nope! All of our events are free and open to everyone!
Are events mandatory to attend?
Nope! Everyone is free to pick and choose which events they would like to attend. However, there are many benefits to becoming an active member!
How do I become an active member?
1) Active members must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at the University of Missouri. 2) Attend at least 40% of our events over the course of the Fall & Spring semesters! If you join during either the fall or spring semester, you must attend at least 40% of the events from the entire academic year to gain the benefits of being an active member. What are the benefits of becoming an active member?
1) Active members are allowed to run for elected officer positions for the following school year.
2) Active members are allowed to vote for elected officers and any Constitution amendments during the spring semester.
When/where are general body meetings?
GBMs are held every third Thursday at 7 PM! Know when & where the next meeting is coming up by checking our Instagram (https://instagram.com/mizzouaaa?utm_medium=copy_link)or Google Calendar.(https://bit.ly/3NjjoE0)

Do you have other events than general body meetings?
Yes! We have service, social, and programming events, as well. Service events will entail volunteering to help out a charitable organization of some sort, social events usually involve mixing and mingling with one another through food, movies, and many other things, programming events include but are not limited to banquets and Taste of Asia.
What does APIDA stand for?
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American.
What kind of APIDA issues do you discuss?
We try to discuss whatever is relevant to the community at the time, but in the past we've covered media representation, politics, intersectionality, culture, and many other topics!
How can I get more involved?
Start by attending our events!
The organization is what you make of it! There are plenty chances to get involved by volunteering for our different events. You can also apply for the executive board at the end of spring semester!
